  • Resumen
    • A taxonomic study of the genera Nanocoquimba and Cornucoquimba Ohmert, 1968 in Recent sediments from the Brazilian Continental Shelf revealed the presence of five new species, which are described here in: Nanocoquimba pulchra, Nanocoquimba labyrinthica, Cornucoquimba decorata, Cornucoquimba conulata and Cornucoquimba nana.

Based on the zoogeographical distribution of these and previous studied ostracod other genera from the Brazilian Continental Shelf allows the Brazilian Coastal area to the subdivided into two Subprovinces: a northern Subprovince and a southern Subprovince which coincide with the Boltovskoy's (1976 and 1979) divisions, based on foraminifers.
