En este artículo se analiza uno de los puntos más controvertidos del pensamiento del último Foucault: el carácter individualista de su propuesta. Este punto ha sido blanco de las críticas de otros pensadores que han tildado la filosofía política de Foucault como reaccionaria. El objetivo de este artículo es examinar si la estética de la existencia de Foucault otorga una primacía ontológica a la relación del yo consigo mismo. El artículo concluye recogiendo varios argumentos que muestran que, para Foucault, la relación de uno consigo mismo es ontológicamente primera y, por tanto, de la que deriva la relación con el otro.

This article analyzesone of the most controversial points in the thought of the last Foucault: the individualistic nature of his proposal. This point has been the target of criticism from other thinkers who have branded Foucault's political philosophy as reactionary. The aim of this article is to examine whether Foucault's aesthetics of existence gives an ontological primacy to the relationship of the self to itself. The article concludes by collecting several arguments that show that, for Foucault, one's relationship with oneself is ontologically first and, therefore, from which the relationship with the other derives.
