  Las creencias sobre la experiencia de ansiedad y sus consecuencias permiten explicar el carácter positivo o negativo de la vivencia ansiosa. Si bien existen instrumentos para valorarla en el contexto clínico, en el área laboral no se conocen pruebas que incluyan ambos componentes. Este trabajo analiza las propiedades psicométricas del Inventario de Creencias Positivas y Negativas sobre la Ansiedad a través de dos estudios.
  
  Estudio 1: participaron 1350 sujetos de población general (Mujeres: 62%; Medad=37.52; DS=18.02). Estudio 2:
  
  participaron 422 sujetos de población general y clínica (Mujeres: 53.7%; Medad=35.58; DS=10.74). Los análisis factoriales permitieron explorar y confirmar la estructura bifactorial de la escala. Se halló evidencia de validez externa y discriminante de tipo concurrente y por grupos contrastados. La escala mostró adecuada consistencia interna (Alpha>.80). Estos resultados aportan evidencias de validez y confiabilidad del instrumento para su utilización como medida de ansiedad positiva y negativa en población general y clínica.

  Beliefs about the anxiety experience and its consequences allow us to explain its positive or negative nature.
  
  Although there are instruments to measure it in the clinical context, to our knowledge there are no tests involving both components at the workplace. This work analyzes the psychometric properties of the Inventory of Positive and Negative Beliefs about Anxiety through two studies. Study 1 involved 1350 subjects from the general population (Female: 62%; Mage=37.52; SD=18.02). Study 2: 422 subjects from general and clinical population (Female: 53.7%; Mage=35.58, SD=10.74). Factor analyses allowed the exploration and testing of a bifactorial structure. Evidence of external and discriminant validity was found of a concurrent type and by contrasted groups. The scale showed adequate internal consistency (Alpha>.80). These results provide evidence of validity and reliability of this instrument for its use as a measure of positive and negative anxiety in the general and clinical population.
