Resumen de ¿Son más creativos los alumnos de profesores con una actitud positiva hacia la creatividad?: actitudes de los profesores y su influencia en el desempeño creativo de los alumnos

  El objetivo de este estudio es analizar las actitudesque los profesores de Educación Primaria en Méxicotienen hacia la creatividad y comprobar siestá relacionada con el desempeño creativo de sus alumnos.Nuestro estudio contó con la colaboración de 18 profesores y un total de 495 niños mexicanos de entre 5y 13 años. Recogimos dos medidas distintas del nivelde creatividad de los alumnos: una valoración objetivaa partir de la administración del Test de Creatividadinfantil (TCI) de Romo y cols, (2008) y una valoraciónsubjetiva solicitada a los propios profesores. Además,estos últimos también cumplimentaron el Test de Actitudes hacia la Creatividad -AQREA-(Alfonso, 2000).Los resultados nos muestran que la actitud de losprofesores hacia la creatividad está significativamenterelacionada con la creatividad de sus alumnos cuandoésta es valorada por los propios profesores. Cuando lavaloración es objetiva, la relación no es significativa deforma global pero si con determinados componentesde esta medida de creatividad como Originalidad, Imaginación y Diversidad de Materiales. Finalmente, sediscuten las implicaciones que estos resultados tienenpara la práctica educativa y el fomento de la creatividad en las aulas atendiendo también al tipo de colegio(público o privado) y el entorno en el que se ubica éste(rural o urbano).

  The aim of this study was to determine if the attitudetowards creativity of teachers in primary education inMexico is related to their pupils’ creative behavior andthe interest the students show towards different subjectenrolled in school and to activities outside the school.Our study involved the collaboration of 18 teacherand a total of 495 mexican children aged 5 to 13 years.We collected two different measures of the level tocreativity of students: an objective assessment fromthe administration of Child Creativity Test (TCI) ofRomo et al, (2008) and subjective assessment requested from the teachers themselves. In addition, they alsocompleted the Attitude Test of Creativity –AQREA-(Alfonso, 2000).The results show that teacher´attitudes toward creativity is significantly related to the creativity of theirstudents when it is valued by the teachers themselves.When the assessment is objective, the relationshipis not globally significant but is positive with certaincomponent of this measure of creativity like originality, Invented Figures and Diversity of materials. Finally, we discuss if these results have implications foreducational practice and the promotion of creativityin the classroom, also considering school type (publicand private) and environment in which it is located(rural or urban).
