    En este artículo se hará uso de la comparación para avanzar en la comprensión de la lógica interna del modelo español de Tribunal de Jurado, iluminando nuestra institución a la luz del contraste con el Jurado Puro anglosajón y el Tribunal de Escabinos.

    La actual LOTJ de 1995 no supuso una ruptura con el modelo de sus precedentes históricos y sigue nominalmente el modelo anglosajón de Jurado Puro. Por ello es pertinente confrontarla con el jurado británico y estadounidense que los medios audiovisuales mantienen muy presente en el imaginario colectivo de los ciudadanos españoles, quienes pueden ser llamados a ejercer la potestad jurisdiccional pero en las condiciones que establece la LOTJ.

    In this article we will make use of the comparison to advance in the understanding of the internal logic of the Spanish model of Jury Court, illuminating our institution in the light of the contrast with the Anglo-Saxon Pure Jury and the Court of Escabinos.

    The current LOTJ of 1995 did not suppose a rupture with the model of its historical precedents and follows nominally the Anglo-Saxon model of Pure Jury. For this reason, it is pertinent to confront it with the British and American juries that the audiovisual media maintain very present in the collective imagination of Spanish citizens, who can be called to exercise the jurisdictional authority but under the conditions established by the LOTJ.
