This paper shows the results obtained at the domestic wastewater treatment plant of Sierra de Outes (Galicia, Spain). Physicochemical treatment, followed by a biological treatment, are used in this plant. Results obtained for the physicochemical treatment show a large efficiency European effluent standards are sufficiently reached, even if the area were protected for eutrophication. Thus, the biological treatment could be considered as a refinement process for the physicochemical process effluent.
