Resumen: | This paper examines university mathematics lecturing using the theoretical frame of unpacking of mathematical knowledge. Unpacking is defined as the micro-level decompressing of mathematical knowledge in the practice of lecturing. Data from lecture observations and interviews of four research mathematicians are analysed. Results suggest that unpacking of mathematical knowledge is done for different mathematical and pedagogical purposes in lectures. |
