    In Mur, Gemma Gorga discovers a family genealogy in a book dedicated to her two grandmothers, and she brings it into the light of today’s world. Inspired by the medieval anchorites, who chose devotional lives locked in cells usually built into the walls of churches, Gorga constructs a feminist testimony to the many anchoresses who spent much of their lives walled into small rooms in an environment of closure and silence - or the near-silence of the murmur of past existences, which is inscribed into the flesh and the text of a body that reproduces inherited movements and gestures. Thus, the poet sharpens her pen and strives to (re)write the acts of post-war grandmothers that become the materialization of the symbol of the wall, while reconciling poetic thought and political action, until, finally, she bears witness to a present legacy.

    A Mur, Gemma Gorga recupera una genealogia familiar personal -és un llibre dedicat a les seves dues àvies- i la fa col·lectiva, a la llum de les dones murades de les ciutats medievals. En consonància amb elles, construeix un testimoni feminista inscrit en l’acció afectada pel fet d’habitar la cambra pròpia d’un mur (murmurar), un entorn de tancament i de silenci (o del quasi silenci del murmuri), que s’inscriu en la carn i en el text des d’un cos que repeteix, amb diferències, els gestos heretats. Així, la poeta esmola la ploma i malda per arribar a (re)escriure els actes d’unes àvies de postguerra que esdevenen la materialització del símbol del mur, mentre fa avinent el pensament poètic i l’acció política i dóna testimoni, finalment, d’un llegat present.
