Resumen de Escipión y escipiones en la literatura castellana del siglo xv

  Alejandro, César o Aníbal son solamente algunos de los grandeshéroes de la Antigüedad que interesaron a los lectores del siglo XV castella-no. Con el nuevo aire humanista, muchos buscaron más detalles sobre lashazañas de estas figuras, hasta incluirlas en sus obras literarias. Una de ellas,Escipión, presenta una serie de problemas referenciales. Este nombre podíaremitir a diferentes miembros de la gens de los Cornelii Scipiones. En varioscasos, las alusiones a estos Escipiones suelen ser incompletas y, cuando no loson, confunden sus hazañas. En este artículo, proponemos realizar un bre-ve recorrido por una selección de obras de la literatura castellana del sigloXV para analizar más detenidamente esas menciones. El objetivo es saber silos autores de la época eran conscientes de que existían varios Escipiones ycómo los distinguían. Veremos así qué características sobresalían y cuáleseran las fuentes empleadas.

  Alexander, Caesar or Hannibal are just some of the great heroes ofantiquity that interested the readers of the 15th century Castilian. With thenew humanist era, many searched more details about the exploits of thesefigures, to include them in their literary works. One of them, Scipio, presentsa series of referential problems. ,is name could refer to different membersof the Cornelii Scipiones gens. In several cases, the allusions to these Scipiosare usually elliptical and, when they are not, their exploits could be confu-sed. In this paper, we propose to make a brief tour of a selection of worksof the 15th century Castilian literature to further analyze these occurrences.The objective is to know if the authors of this time were aware that several Scipios existed and how they distinguished them. We will see what featuresstood out and what were the sources they used
