Resumen de Proyecto piloto de certificación forestal FSC en la mancomunidad de los valles, Aísa y Borau, en la provincia de Huesca

Se expone en el presente trabajo una introducción a la certificación forestal FSC y se explican las líneas generales del proyecto piloto de este tipo de certificación forestal que se está desarrollando actualmente en 5 valles del Pirineo Aragonés. Se comentan algunos de los problemas y dificultades encontradas en relación con la gestión forestal y se dan algunas propuestas para su solución, encaminadas a alcanzar los niveles de gestión exigibles para merecer la certificación forestal del FSC.

In this paper, as an introduction some information is given about FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certification and the current level of development of this system of forest certification in Spain. The main part of the paper focuses on the general guidelines and the situation of the Pilot Project which is currently taking place in 5 valleys of Pirinean Mountain Range. Finally, some problems and difficulties identified concerning forest management in the area are commented and possible solutions for them are proposed, in order to reach the minimum level of good management required to make viable the FSC certification of those forest management units.
