Resumen de Alcances de una estrategia educativa en pacientes diabéticos de una unidad de medicina familiar

  Objetivo: llevar a cabo una estrategia dirigida al diabético para mejorar el control de su enfermedad. Métodos: intervención educativa con mediciones previas y posteriores, en la cual, el grupo de 20 pacientes fue su propio control; consistió en sesiones manejadas por el equipo multidisciplinario, se realizó una encuesta sobre autoconocimiento previamente publicada y se aplicó estadística no-paramétrica. Resultados: se conformó un grupo con 20 pacientes diabéticos, al inicio, dos terceras partes obtuvieron calificaciones bajas, lo cual se invirtió al final con 13 pacientes con calificaciones altas y medias, con significancia estadística. Conclusiones: la educación del paciente es un pilar en su autocontrol, siendo indudablemente el camino correcto para lograr cambiar los estilos de vida. Nuestra propuesta es considerar la formación de grupos de autocontrol para promover la enseñanza en etapas tempranas de la enfermedad. Se deberían destinar más recursos humanos y financieros para un mejor resultado.

  Objective: to carry out a strategy addressed to diabetic patients to improve control of their disease. Methods: educational intervention with pre- and post-test measurements, in which, the group of 20 patients carried out their own control; it consisted of sessions managed by the multidisciplinary team, it was carried out a survey on self-knowledge previously posted and it was applied non-parametric statistics. Results: there was a group of 20 diabetic patients, at the beginning of the study; two-thirds obtained low ratings, which reversed at the end with 13 patients with high and averages scores, with statistical significance. Conclusions: educating the patient is a support for their control self-control, which, certainly, is the right path to achieve change in lifestyles. Our proposal is to make groups of self-control to promote teaching during early stages of the disease. There should assign more financial and human resources for better results.
