  Para que exista la preservación se requieren determinados procesos, los cuales se encuentran en el propósito demantener y valorar la memoria social o sea el Patrimonio Cultural.El Estado actúa bajo lo que se puede llamar gestión, administración o tutela del bien en el área de la cultura ydel desarrollo urbano. Así que además de la gestión que debe tener en cuenta la restauración del bien es necesarioque se cuide de saber las condiciones que va a ofrecer para que mediante su disfrute se dé también su conservación y preservación.En Brasil la gestión del Patrimonio fue naciendo a lo largo del siglo XX con la creación de organismos que lafuesen reglamentando. La fecha en que Brasil empezó a considerar su Patrimonio Cultural fue básicamente lamisma en que se empezó a mirar hacia el sitio arqueologico de la Reduccion Jesuítica de San Miguel .El caso investigado abarca la Reducción Jesuítica de San Miguel. Ubicado en la ciudad de San Miguel de lasMisiones, Brasil. Se investigan las ruinas existentes de la Reducción por ser la más representativa, el conjuntoarquitectónico jesuítico mejor restaurado y conservado del sur de Brasil.

  Preservation of ancient and historical monuments requires certain processes in order to maintain and assesssocial memory or cultural heritage.The State operates through management, administration or custody of the property in relation to culture andurban development. Therefore in addition to the management of the restoring processes it is necessary a carefulanalysis of the conditions offered in order to guarantee their conservation and preservation. Brazilian asset management was introduced as a practice during the twentieth century with the creation of agencies that were responsible for regulating this heritage. Coincidentally, the date when Brazil began to consider their cultural heritagewas basically the same when it began to look at the archaeological site of the Spanish Jesuit Reductions.This study investigates Jesuit Reduction of St. Michael, located in the city of San Miguel of the Missions, Brazil.The exploration of the existing ruins reduction was performed considering that they are the best restored andpreserved and most representative Jesuit architectural in southern Brazil.
