Resumen de Ocupación real y cohesión territorial en el espacio agrario periurbano de Girona (Catalunya)

  La producción de leche en la zona periurbana sur de la ciudad de Girona, fuertemente tecnificada y especializada, ejerce un papel clave en la cohesión social del territorio y teje un complejo flujo de mano de obra. Aquí, los procesos de producción, transformación y distribución entorno a la leche, generan múltiples servicios (sanidad, asesoramiento, transporte) a lo largo de su cadena de valor agroalimentaria. Todo ello se organiza en un espacio periurbano reducido que, a su vez, debe atender y frenar los impactos territoriales derivados de la logística de la ciudad dada su extrema fragilidad y ruralidad.

  Milk production in the peri-urban southern area of Girona city is very much mechanised and therefore specialized. This fact has an outstanding role in the social cohesion of the area and it performs a complex and fluid labour network. The production, transformation and distribution process of milk in this area generates multiple services such as animal welfare, advice and transport due to the chain of the food and agriculture value. All of these functions are organized in a reduced peri-urban area, which, at de same time, must also attend and stop the territorial impacts resulting from urban logistics given the extreme fragility of rural conditions.
