  The Distance Learning are even more agregating value to colaborative learning, where the interactions on-line are important points in the process, once the principal mean of communication is writing. Therefore, in scientifica areas, like Mathematics, which requires his own notation, the on-line interaction has been difficult for teachers as for students, since the communication doesn´t occur in a transparent, fast and accurate way. Such difficulties are related to the lack of a learning virtual environment that support a scientific communication. Inside this context, this work presents the ROODA Exata formula editor, a tool integrated to the ROODA virtual learning environment.

  A Educação a Distância vem valorizando cada vez mais a aprendizagem colaborativa, onde as interações on-line são importantes no processo, uma vez que o principal veículo de comunicação é a escrita. Entretanto, nas áreas científicas, como a Matemática, que exigem uma notação própria, tem sido trabalhoso, para professores e alunos, a interação on-line, uma vez que a comunicação não ocorre de forma transparente, rápida e precisa. Tais dificuldades devem-se à ausência de ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem que suportam uma comunicação científica. Diante desse contexto, desenvolveu-se o editor de fórmulas ROODA Exata, um editor de fórmulas científicas, integrado ao ambiente virtual de aprendizagem ROODA
