  • Resumen
    • Although primarily a development programme, the strategy for the Microelectronics in Education Programme (MEP) embodies the building of a springboard for the dissemination of microelectronic innovations which will benefit education. Springboard activities lie within three areas. A regional infrastructure has been established to provide information about new materials arid ideas. Extensive in‐service teacher education is under way to prepare a favourable environment for the adoption of new classroom practice. The availability of appropriate products is being increased through the encouragement and support of curriculum development projects and publishing initiatives. Because of the short life of MEP, and the slow initial uptake of all innovations, it is likely that the level of dissemination will peak after the programme ends in March 1986. To ensure this, the springboard must outlive the programme and its use must be assured.
