  • Resumen
    • Carmen de Burgos lived through the period of Spain's transition with the loss of its colonies and the efforts of its intellectuals to "regenerate" the nation. In 1976, the author was the first person to publish a book on Carmen de Burgos, Carmen de Burgos defensora de la mujer/Carmen de Burgos Defender of Women. The adventure that brought her to "recover/uncover" Burgos's work is one that is both amusing and illuminating as to the thesis topics in universities at that time. Because of the author's family history of social activism as members of the Communist Party, and as part of the feminist movement of the period, was interested in doing my thesis on a woman author. Burgos has been an interconnected thread of the author's life as a mother, female, graduate student and faculty person. Writing about her made both her social and political goals visible.
