    El objetivo es poner de manifiesto los intereses que respaldan y dan solidez al acuerdo alcanzado entre Cuba y Estados Unidos que se hizo público el 17 de diciembre e incluso el impulso que estos proporcionan a las negociaciones que acaban de iniciarse para poner en práctica dicho acuerdo. Sin embargo, para que estas negociaciones tengan éxito será preciso también adoptarlas con realismo y negociar los puntos donde exista acuerdo. Los resultados serán mayores que si, en dichas negociaciones, se abordan cuestiones que son innegociables para alguna de las partes o para ambas.

    El resultado se limitaría al bloqueo del proceso y al fracaso del mismo.

    The aim is to reveal the interests that endorse and give solidity to the agreement reached between Cuba and The United States that was made public on December 17 and even the impulse that these provide to the negotiations that have just begun to put in practice the above mentioned agreement.

    Nevertheless, for these negotiations to be successful they will need to be adopted with realism and the points where there is agreement need to be negotiated. The results will be greater than if in the above mentioned negotiations non-negotiable questions for the negotiators are approached. The result would be limited to the blockade of the process and to its failure.
