Atrás han quedado los prejuicios elitistas y academicistas que dificultaban el tratamiento académico del cine y de su relación con la filosofía. Una relación fundada en la sospecha de que además de su indudable potencial estético y de entretenimiento, el cine posee un potencial epistémico inusitado. Pero una vez generalizado el debate en torno a esta cuestión, la pretendida autonomía epistémica del cine debe superar unos prejuicios nuevos. Gone are the elitist and academic prejudices that hampered the academic treatment of film and its relationship with philosophy. A relationship based on the suspicion that in addition to its undoubted entertaining and aesthetic potential, films have an unusual epistemic potential. But once the debate on this issue has become widespread, the pretended epistemic autonomy of film must overcome new prejudices. In this the fate of film goes hand in hand with philosophy and the rest of the humanities.
