Resumen de Puesta en marcha del primer Large Size Telescope de CTA

El primer telescopio de gran tamaño del observatorio Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), denominado Large Size Telescope (LST), se inauguró en 2018 y se encuentra en fase de puesta en funcionamiento en el observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos en la isla de La Palma. CTA es el máximo representante de la nueva generación de observatorios destinados a la detección de los rayos gamma de muy alta energía que alcanzan la tierra. Una vez completado permitirá aumentar tanto la sensibilidad como el rango energético cubierto respecto los instrumentos y observatorios actuales.

The first large telescope for the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTA), called the Large Size Telescope (LST), was inaugurated in 2018 and is in the commissioning phase at the Roque de los Muchachos observatory on the island of La Palma. The CTA is the leading representative of the new generation of observatories aimed at detecting the very high energy gamma rays that reach the earth. Once completed, it will increase both the sensitivity and the energy range covered with respect to current instruments and observatories.
