• Permian rocks have been identified at the bottom of Gaviotín borehole, located in the Punta del Este basin (Uruguayan continental shelf), on the basis of sedimentologic and palynological analyses, contributing to reveal the prefift nature of the basin, as well as to establish a correlation of these units with those of the Chacoparanense Basin.
