Resumen de A sustentabilidade nas instituições do ensino superior e as barreiras na sua implementação. Caso ISCAC/CBS

  HEI Stakeholders are becoming increasingly demanding and pressure HEIs so that they are not only concerned with Sustainability but also Sustainable Institutions, as they understand that this is one of the ways to promote the social, environmental and economic well-being of society. As a result, HEIs have ceased to be concerned exclusively with knowledge creation and transmission and have also begun to worry about the implementation of policies leading to sustainable campuses. The Coimbra Polytechnic Institute (IPC) was not unaware of this appeal and launched the “Sustainable IPC +” Project with a view to adopting sustainable measures throughout the Polytechnic. In this challenge, faced several barriers, the main ones being the lack of student involvement and the difficulty of proposing / executing measures for all their functions.   Os Stakeholders das IES estão cada vez mais exigentes e pressionam as IES para que estas, além de se preocuparem com a Sustentabilidade, sejam elas também Instituições Sustentáveis, por entenderem ser esta uma das formas de promover o bem-estar social, ambiental e económico da sociedade. Como consequência, as IES deixaram de se preocupar exclusivamente com a criação e transmissão de conhecimentos e começaram a preocupar-se também com a implementação de politicas conducentes a alcançarem campus sustentáveis. O Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra (IPC) não foi alheio a este apelo e lançou o Projeto “IPC + Sustentável” tendo em vista adotar medidas sustentáveis em todo o Politécnico. Neste desafio enfrentou várias barreiras sendo as principais a falta de envolvimento dos alunos e a dificuldade de propor/executar medidas para todas as suas funções. Este trabalho, tem assim caráter descritivo e pretende relatar essa experiencia, numa das suas unidades orgânicas, a Coimbra Business School/ISCAC
