Uno de los principales ejes temáticos de la prensa local histórica de Lanzarote y Fuerteventura ha sido la defensa de los que se consideraban como intereses insulares legítimos frente a la preponderancia de las islas capitalinas de Canarias. Esta comunicación aborda el estudio de los discursos que sobre este ámbito se realizaron desde la prensa editada en estas islas hasta 1982. La finalidad es conocer las principales líneas de opinión y los apoyos argumentales que se han sostenido respecto a este tema. Nuestros objetivos y metodologías no se refieren a la historia política sino a la historia de la comunicación social y, más concretamente, a una lectura de las corrientes de opinión y las dialécticas empleadas.

One of the main themes of the historic local press of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura has been the defense of it was considerated as legitimate insularist interests against the preponderance of the main islands of the Canaries. This paper deals with the study of the speeches that were made on the field from the press on these islands until 1982. The aim is to identify the main lines of opinion and argument supports that have been held on this issue. Our objectives and methodologies are not about political history but to the history of social communications and more specifically, to a reading of the currents of opinion and the dialectics employed.
