Se hace una comparación entre algunas de las imágenes teresianas para del alma y la antropología de santo Tomás de Aquino: entre la imagen del castillo y sus moradas y los diversos grados de vida, así como algunas de las actividades descritas por el Aquinate, que culminan en la contemplación amorosa como actos de las potencias superiores — entendimiento y voluntad. El análisis de la acción de la gracia permitirá apreciar la estructura antropológica de la santa abulense descrita en la obra de santo Tomás.
