O autor contesta a recente interpretação de Centum Celas (Belmonte) como templo do forum dos Lancienses Oppidani e mantém a tese de que se trata de villa. Apresenta algumas notas relativas a Egitania: sobre o que pode ter sido uma inscrição do pórtico do forum; sobre o nome da cidade desde a Época Sueva até à Reconquista (passando pelo domínio muçulmano); sobre o bispado e os seus limites geográficos. Discute a situação da serra que na Idade Média se chamava de Ocaia. Apresenta também algumas notas sobre os topónimos Aquae Originae ou Ocaerenses, Camaloc(…) e Calanta.

Some notes on Roman sites and place-names of Portugal are presented in this paper. The author considers a recent interpretation of the Roman monument of Centum Celas (Belmonte) as the main temple of the forum of the Lancienses Oppidani and sustains it is the surviving main part of a Roman villa. Some notes are also presented on aspects of the ancient town of Egitania: an inscription from the portico of the forum, the name of the town through the Suevic and Islamic periods, its history as a bishopric from the 4th to the 7th century.
The name and situation of mount Ocaia is here considered. Other notes follow on the Roman place-names of Aquae Originae, Camaloc(…) and Calanta.
