Resumen de The ‘Structured Lesson’ and ‘Structured Revision’

Kenneth Rotheram

  • The ‘Structured Lesson’ is designed to optimise learning and make students accountable.

Teaching is limited to 20 minutes and is followed by an active learning period to include annotating teacher text, memorising information and drawing a mind map. The mind map acts as a low-stakes test. Homework is a revision essay; parents help with a flash-card quiz. Work is stored in a portfolio and students are periodically self-critical and suggest future targets. At the end of the topic there is a ‘Structured Revision’ lesson, an essay test and an interview.
