Resumen de Dr. Arstone and Gastronomic France: Gimme a Pigfoot and a Bottle of Beer

Ben Z. Swanson, Theodore P. Croll

  • Dr. Arstone, supposedly of Philadelphia (the authors could not confirm), in his "SPECIAL OFFICE OF DENTAL WORKS OF ART" used the "American Method" coupled with Patience, Consideration, and Delicacy" to treat his patients, in Paris (Figures 1,2 and 3). We are certain that no one else could do that because he offered "UNIQUE DENTISTRY" in his "PICTURE WINDOW FOR PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION" at 12 Boulevard Bonne-Nouvelle. Apparently patient privacy regulations were not in effect in France 120 years ago.

Selection of this stock card for his advertising message surely revealed Dr. Arstone's affection for the legendary food and wine of France. This card was one of a series labeled "LA FRANCE GASTRONOMIC" and we have seen two others, one from AVEYRON and the other from the MAINE.
