    Los valores religiosos son una realidad que ha acompañado y potenciado la transformación de nuestro continente a lo largo de los dos milenios de evolución desde que se fusionaran con los valores cívico-jurídicos romanos. No ha sido algo aislado que haya quedado reservado para la esfera privada, sino que siempre han tenido una importante presencia pública. En esa misma tendencia, tuvieron acceso a los Tratados de las Comunidades Europeas y sus posteriores reformas, reconociendo de esta manera su importancia de cara a la sociedad que ayudaron a formar. Sin embargo, en los últimos decenios se les está procediendo a orillar, con el correspondiente perjuicio que ello conlleva para la sociedad. Por ello, no sólo se les debe de rescatar del olvido, sino incluso darles un creciente protagonismo, junto a otro a valores cívicos europeos, entre la joven ciudadanía europea a través de los planes de estudio universitarios para que tengan un conocimiento claro de su importancia para la evolución de nuestro continente y la construcción de la ciudadanía europea

    The religious values are a reality that has accompanied and strengthened the transformation of our continent throughout the two millennia of evolution since they merged with Roman civic-legal values. It has not been something isolated that has been reserved for the private sphere, but they have always had an important public presence. In that same tendency, they had access to the Treaties of the European Communities and their subsequent reforms, recognizing in this way their importance in the face of the society they helped to form. However, in the last decades they are proceeding to border, with the corresponding damage that this entails for society. Therefore, not only should they be rescued from oblivion, but even give them a growing role, along with another one to European civic values, among the young European citizens through the university study plans so that they have a clear knowledge of their importance for the evolution of our continent and the construction of European citizenship.
