    Se cumplen ochenta años desde que los primeros interbrigadistas heridos, en el frente andaluz y madrileño, comenzaron a llegar a Ciudad Real para ser hospitalizados. Este artículo pretende resaltar la trayectoria vital del interbrigadista galo Gustave Vergneau.

    Llegó a ser responsable político de la Columna Internacional en los hospitales de Ciudad Real y la voz de los voluntarios a través de las radios frentepopulista y comunista de la capital manchega. También, se realiza una aproximación a las relaciones que se establecieron entre Ciudad Real y las Brigadas Internacionales.

    It is now eighty years since the first wounded volunteers from the International Brigades, fighting in Madrid and Andalusia, started to arrive to Ciudad Real (Spain) to be hospitalized. This article aims to highlight the vital trajectory of the interbrigadista frenchman Gustave Vergneau. He became politically responsible for the International Column in hospitals in Ciudad Real and he was the voice of volunteers through the Popular Front and communist capital of La Mancha radios. It is also made an approach to the relations established between Ciudad Real and the International Brigades.
