Se cumplen 25 años del fallecimiento de Pedro Echevarría Bravo (1905-1990), músico, compositor, musicólogo y folclorista. Pedro Echavarría es el autor del Cancionero musical popular manchego (1951). El autor dedicó gran parte de su vida a visitar los pueblos de la Mancha para recoger directamente las pruebas de la lírica popular y difundirlas por España y Europa. Su trabajo recibió amplios reconocimientos del Instituto Español de Musicología y del CSIC. En la actualidad, está considerado como una de las grandes aportaciones al estudio del folclore. Este ensayo es una biografía de Echevarría. Paralelamente se analizan los tiempos y contextos en que vivió y trabajó. El objetivo es realizar un homenaje al hombre, al músico, al estudioso, y mostrar la evolución musical española en el siglo XX

The author spent much of his life to visit the villages of La Mancha to collect direct evidence of popular lyrics and ideas through Spain and Europe.
His work received wide recognition from the Spanish Institute of Musicology and the CSIC. Today, it is considered one of the great contributions to the study of folklore.
