El aumento de los flujos migratorios existentes actualmente visualiza pautas culturales diferentes que para los profesionales sanitarios pueden suponer un inconveniente. Ello conlleva que la mutilación genital femenina sea un problema emergente que vulnera los derechos humanos de la mujer. Por ello es necesario desarrollar protocolos que defiendan estos derechos. En este artículo se propone divulgar el nuevo protocolo desarrollado por el Ministerio de Sanidad, realizando un Resumen de este y exponiendo un algoritmo de actuación.

The increase in migratory flows currently exhibits different cultural patterns that, for health professionals, may be inconvenient. This implies that female genital mutilation is an emerging problem that violates the human rights of women. That is why it is necessary to develop protocols that defend these rights. In this article we propose to disclose the new protocol developed by the Ministry of Health, making a summary of this and exposing an action algorithm
