    Una de las habilidades más importantes en el trabajo con la asignatura Matemática en todas las enseñanzas es la de cálculo, sin embargo es una de las de mayor incidencia en los problemas de aprendizaje de los estudiantes. En la Educación Primaria, los escolares con frecuencia presentan dificultad para comprender y realizar cálculos matemáticos, es por ello que este artículo tiene como objetivo ofrecer los fundamentos teóricos que sustentan el tratamiento de la discalculia en escolares de esta educación, en el que se tienen en cuenta definición, síntomas, causas, clasificación, características, tratamiento y algunas consideraciones sobre el cálculo aritmético en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la asignatura  Matemática. En la realización del estudio se aplicaron los métodos teóricos analítico-sintético e inductivo deductivo, así como el análisis de documentos.

    One of the most important skills in the work with the subject Mathematics in all the lessons is the one of calculation, nevertheless it is one of those of greater incidence in the problems of learning of the students. In Primary Education, students often have difficulty understanding and performing mathematical calculations, which is why this article aims to provide the theoretical foundations that support the treatment of dyscalculia in schoolchildren of this education, in which they have account definition, symptoms, causes, classification, characteristics, treatment and some considerations about the arithmetic calculation in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics. In the realization of the study the analytical-synthetic and inductive deductive theoretical methods were applied, as well as the analysis of documents.
