  Resumen: Las curiae son una institución jurídica y social de la Roma arcaica. Este artículo plantea la tesis que dicha institución habría evolucionado dentro de la primera etapa de la monarquía romana, desde una manifestación de una organización política consuetudinaria, a una organización propiamente ciudadana hacia el siglo VII a.C. mediante acción legislativa durante la misma monarquía.

  Abstract: The curiae are a social and legal institution of Archaic Rome. This article puts forward the thesis that this institution might have evolved during the early Roman monarchy, from being a manifestation of Rome’s consuetudinary political organization to a properly civic one during the 7th c. B.C., through the legislative action of the monarchy.
