  El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los medios a través de los cuales las distintas facciones enfrentadas en Castilla intentaron adquirir la legitimidad que el apoyo pontificio aportaba para sus respectivas causas, además de valorar la importancia que esta legitimidad adquirió y cuál fue la actuación del papado en el conflicto

  This article will analyze the means by which the various factions in Castille tried to acquire, for their respective causes, the legitimacy bestowed by the papacy. It will also asses the importance that this legitimation obtained, and focus on the intervention of the papacy in the conflict.
