    El tratado gnóstico Sobre el origen del mundo narra que las potencias del Arconte modelaron a Adán pero fracasaron en el intento de imprimirle forma humana. El cuerpo quedó sin alma y abandonado durante cuarenta días hasta que Sophía Zoé infundió su aliento en su interior. El tratado recoge la tradición de Jubileos y su cronología para el ingreso de Adán y Eva en el Paraíso: cuarenta y ochenta días, respectivamente. Se advierten en el trasfondo del relato un precepto mosaico sobre la presentación de la mujer en el Templo y la biología del judaísmo helénico que encontramos en Filón.

    The gnostic treatise on the Origin of the World narrates that the powers of the Archon shaped Adam but failed in the attempt to impress him with human form. The body was left soulless and abandoned for forty days until Sophia Zoe sent her breath into Adam. The treaty includes the Jubilee tradition and its chronology for the entry of Adam and Eve into Paradise:
