Resumen de En la sombra acecha: residuos totalitarios de nuestra era

A pesar de que los dos grandes regímenes totalitarios conocidos por la humanidad –el nazismo y el estalinismo– se hayan extinguido, ello no quiere decir el totalitarismo haya desaparecido. A través del presente artículo tratamos de exponer cómo algunas de sus soluciones siguen perpetuándose en la economía y la política actuales. De un lado, atenderemos a que el «ultraliberalismo» económico manifiesta ciertos aspectos totalitarios en su concepción de la historia, la abstracción antropológica que hace del hombre, su radicalismo y maniqueísmo respecto a otros modelos económicos y su visión monista del mundo. De otro lado, se pretende analizar el comportamiento totalitario de algunos de los partidos y movimientos de ultraderecha que han nacido o que han resurgido en Europa a raíz de la crisis económica social, política y axiológica que atravesamos en nuestro tiempo

Despite the fact that Nazism and Stalinism, the two largest regimes of totalitarianism, become extinct, does not imply that totalitarianism has been abolished. We will hereby try to explain how some of the possible solutions have lingered in current economy and politics. On the one hand, we could state that the economical «ultraliberalism» possesses, to some extent, totalitarian aspects in the way history is conceived, their abstract perspective of mankind, radicalism and Manicheism over other economical bases, and their monistic view of the world. On the other hand, we intend to analyse the totalitarian pattern of some political parties and right-winged extremists which rose or which have appeared in Europe in the wake of the social, political and axiological crisis Europe is currently going through
