    The article is focused on a secondary school project (called “Another Brick in the Wall”) which provides young students with knowledges on the huge presence of separation-walls all around the world. A way to face the tendency to segregation, hate and racism is reasoning on the ideas of “me”, “us” and “the other”, starting from old stereotypes often confirmed also by school-teachers, as the one about the Roman Empire, that could give the students the wrong concept of a well-ordered space, built on civilization, set in rivalry with the wild barbarism of the “others” coming from abroad

    L’articolo si concentra sulla descrizione di un progetto (intitolato “Another Brick in the Wall”) rivolto alla scuola secondaria, che intende fornire agli studenti una serie di conoscenze sull’enorme presenza di muri di separazione fra stati - o addirittura fra diverse aree di una medesima città - in tutto il pianeta. Una maniera per affrontare la tendenza alla segregazione, all’odio e al razzismo è ragionare sulle idee di “io”, “noi” e “l’altro”, partendo da alcuni stereotipi datati eppure troppo spesso trasmessi anche dalla scuola; un esempio per tutti riguarda l’impero romano, spesso studiato come un’entità dai confini ben determinati, al cui interno regna la civiltà, posta in contrapposizione con la selvaggia barbarie degli “altri” venuti dall’esterno.
