Resumen Entre los hechos que se dieron en los años 1926-1929, durante la llamada guerra cristera, existe uno que, sin haber tenido una importancia capital en el desarrollo de los acontecimientos, sí tuvo gran relevancia por la versión que se difundió a través de los periódicos: el asalto al tren de La Barca. La manera en que se presentó este suceso en la prensa constituyó, al final, una gran derrota para quienes supuestamente habían vencido al gobierno. En este estudio, se analizarán las distintas versiones que se tienen de los hechos y se buscará mostrar cómo influyó el manejo mediático en la percepción de los acontecimientos.

Abstract Among the many events that occurred during The Cristero War 1926-1929. There is one that had gone unnoticed in the development of history, had not been for the great relevance given by the newspapers of the time: the assault on the train of La Barca. The way in which this event took front page cover the press was a great defeat for those who supposedly had defeated the government in power. In this academic study, the different versions and facts will be analyzed in order to show how media management influenced public perception of events.
