  • The article focuses on women artists Adriana Varejão and Jac Leirner, and their relevance for Brazilian art. Topics discussed include inclusion of Varejão painting "Map of Lopo Homem" in a cartography-inspired survey called "Mapping," her contribution in reprising of casta paintings, Leirner exhibition at Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo in São Paulo, Brazil that won best exhibition of the year by local critics and her contribution to deveolpment of polychrome wooden floor sculptures.
