  En este trabajo estudiamos cómo vivían los anacoretas y eremitas de Egipto en el siglo IV d. C. Las ideas religiosas y el modo de vida llevaron a la creación de numerosos monasterios y enclaves de solitarios tanto de hombres como de mujeres. Entre ellos destacamos los personajes más importantes de aquellos momentos, unos eran religiosos que viven aislados, otros organizaron su vida en comunidad y se rigen por ciertas reglas. Algunos padres de la Iglesia dieron su opinión sobre estos modos de vida. No hemos olvidado citar como vestían y comían pues fue una de sus características más peculiares. En conclusión, fue una etapa de la Historia de la Iglesia que se imitó en todo el Imperio y dejó profunda huella en la historia medieval de Oriente y Occidente.

  In this article, we study how living the anchorites and hermits of Egypt in the century IV A.D. The cultural prevalence of religious ideas and the mode of life led to the creation of numerous monasteries and enclaves of solitary both of men as in women. Among them, we highlight the most important characters of those times; some of them were religious that they lived isolated, others organized their life in community and are governed by certain rules. Some fathers of the Church gave its opinion about these modes of life. We have not forgotten to quote as they wore and ate because it was one of the most peculiar characteristics. In conclusion, it was a stage of the history of the Church that are imitated in all the Empire and left deep footprint in the medieval history of Orient and Occident.
