Autoestima y lesiones deportivas en jóvenes

    La autoestima y el autoconcepto que el deportista tiene de sí mismo es de gran interés para el deporte en sus vertientes competitiva y educativa. En este estudio se pretende comprobar si las lesiones deportivas pueden ser influenciadas a causa de la autoestima, se propone como objetivo relacionar las dimensiones de la autoestima con las lesiones deportivas. El registro de las lesiones se realizó mediante un cuestionario de auto-informe; para establecer la relación entre lesiones deportivas y las dimensiones de la autoestima,se ha empleado un cuestionario adaptado del Inventario de Autoconcepto en el Medio Escolar (IAME), elaborado por García (1995). Se encuentran relaciones significativas entre la autoestima de relaciones con la frecuencia de lesión (.011), lesión moderada (.029) y lesión grave (.037), con una significación (p<.05). La relación que los jugadores mantienen en su entorno familiar, deportivo y social puede influenciarles en su vulnerabilidad a sufrir lesiones moderadas y graves.

    The self-esteem and self-concept that the athlete has of himself is of great interest for the sport in its competitive and educational aspect. In this study it is tried to verify if the sports injuries can be influenced by self-esteem, it aims to relate the dimensions of the self-esteem with the sports injuries. The registry of the injuries has been made through a self-report questionnaire; and with the objective of establishing the relationship between sports injuries and the dimensions of self-esteem, a questionnaire adapted from the Self-concept Inventory in the School Environment (IAME), elaborated by García (1995), has been used. Were found significant relationships between the self-esteem variable of the injury frequency (,011), moderate injury (,029) and severe injury (,037), with sgnification (p<.05). The relationship that the players maintain in their family, sports and social environment can influence them in their vulnerability to suffer moderate and severe injuries.
