The article focuses on the transdisciplinary framework for second language acquisition (SLA) to power multilingualism. It states that multilingualism is being adopted by adults and young in their education. In addition, the field of SLA characterizes linguistic forces and explains the outcome of a foreign language. Topics discussed include subfields of linguistics such as anthropological linguistics; forces like globalization and mobility which require multilingualism; and pragmatic concepts.
