Giacomo Puccini y Japón. Un estudio de las interrelaciones culturales y musicales a través de Madama Butterfly


Resumen


Madama Butterfly develops its activities in Japan in the early twentieth century, when Japonisme in the West is booming. This phenomenon is defined by the catchment and reception of the Japanese in Western culture, especially since the mid-nineteenth century until the decade of the twentieth century 30. Japonisme will be reflected in many Western cultural events, meeting including performing arts, where he was primarily Japanese exotic scenery and striking costumes, and also in the opera music was added the color of those distant lands. The musical drama of Puccini, Madama Butterfly, highlighting at the same time include a number of elements, where the East-Wests interrelationships are evident.
