Vivimos inmersos en una sociedad cambiante, heterogénea y multicultural en lacual, la educación no puede erigirse como un elemento secundario y aislado,sino como el motor que permita hacer avanzar a su ciudadanía, más aún enmomentos de crisis económica como la actual.No podemos tampoco obviarque existe un compromiso de convergencia entre las diferentes políticaseducativas europeas cuyo objetivo básico común es mejorar la calidad delsistema que permita crear una Europa altamente formada y competitiva.Eséste uno de los grandes desafíos, que como todo reto, presenta susobstáculos. En efecto, la consecución real de dicho propósito no puedelograrse sin una atención personalizada a la diversidad, que por desgracia, y apesar de las diversas actuaciones llevadas a cabo por el gobierno y lasautonomías pueden considerarse insuficientes.

We live immersed in a changing, heterogeneous and multicultural society inwhich, education can not be erected as a secondary and isolated element, butas the motor that allows to advance its citizenship, even more in moments ofeconomic crisis like the present one. We can not ignore the fact that there is acommitment to convergence between the different European educationalpolicies whose common basic objective is to improve the quality of the systemthat makes it possible to create a highly trained and competitive Europe. This isone of the great challenges that, like any challenge, presents its obstacles.Indeed, the real achievement of this purpose can not be achieved withoutpersonalized attention to diversity, which unfortunately, and despite the variousactions carried out by the government and the autonomies can be consideredinsufficient.
