  • Resumen
    • "Our strategy since 2008 has been to look at what we can do in lithium," Christophe Thillier, Eramine's general manager, told IM.

The company has filed 10 patents for an "absorption" process, its own version of direct extraction, in which "a solid with a chemical affinity for lithium is used to separate the metal from the brine without contaminating the latter and preserving the ecosystem of the Andean Altiplano".

"Tests at sea level in Australia [in the case of ADY] and France [in the case of Eramine] will not necessarily translate to the high altitudes," said one, also citing higher lead-in times and as-yet unknown costs.
