  • Resumen
    • Journalism has not been immune to economic crisis which is impacting Europe currently. For some time, Spanish media are remodeling their human resource: are decreasing their staff employed, increasing outsourcing of information services, reducing wages or redistributing functions.

In this context, this article wonders about scientific journalism. The goal is analyzing crisis effects over scientific information on media, according to scientific journalists opinion. Among the results, it was possible to identify a clear decrease in the quality of scientific information, because of the uncertainty and job insecurity.

This article is part of competitive I+D+i project “The science news journalism in Spain and new technologies of information: Mapping the field and proposals to improve the communicative processes between scientists and journalists”. This project has Spanish Ministry of Economy funding (CSO2011-25969; 2012-2014).
