Resumen de La devoción mariana en el marco de la religiosidad del siglo XIII

El siglo XIII se identifia con la edad de oro de la devoción a la Virgen María. Este artículo se propone enmarcar la devoción mariana en las líneas de la religiosidad propia de aquella centuria. Tendrá en cuenta el perfil institucional de la Iglesia, pero sobre todo analizará lo que consideramos el contexto inmediato de la piedad hacia la Virgen María: las devociones cristocéntricas y el llamado “despertar religioso de los laicos”. Por otra parte, se estudiará las formas de culto y devoción a la Virgen en el siglo XIII, con una especial atención a la gura del rey Alfonso X el Sabio y sus Cantigas de Santa María. The 13th century is identified with the golden age of the devotion to the Virgin Mary. This article aims at looking at Marian devotion in the context of the religiosity of this century. It takes into account the institutional profile of the Church, but mostly analyses what we consider to be the immediate context of piety towards the Virgin Mary: Christocentric devotions and the so-called “religious awakening of lay people”. On the other hand, it studies the forms of worship and devotion to Mary in the 13th century, giving special attention to King Alfonso X of Castile and his Cantigas de Santa Maria (“Songs to the Virgin Mary”)
