    El hecho de que se pueda disfrutar de todos los vestigios hallados en el casco urbano de Alhambra, y de dentro del extenso termino municipal, ha sido posible por el interés y la ilusión de un grupo de personas que coincidían en que la valiosa historia del pueblo desde su antigüedad, debía de ser manifestada, recopilada y cronológicamente estructurada a través del museo, que ofrece un recorrido por los más de 4000 años de historia, de culturas que han ido pasando y dejando su huella en el cerro donde actualmente se asienta Alhambra. No sólo actúa como espacio aglutinador de valiosas piezas, sino como motor cultural, ya que desde aquí se organizan eventos, seminarios, recreaciones históricas y campañas de excavaciones que sirven para divulgar y proteger el riquísimo legado arqueológico.

    The fact that we can enjoy all the remains found in the urban area and extensive municipality of Alhambra, has been possible thanks to the interest and to the excitement of a group of people who agreed on the valuable history of the town, as well as its antiquity, should be displayed, compiled and chronologically structured. This was the origin of the current museum. A tour through out more than 4000 years of history is presented, showing the different Cultures that have been passing and leaving traces in the hill where currently Alhambra is settled. The museum is not only a container for the treasured pieces; it is also a cultural driver for the town. Events, seminars, historical recreations, excavation seasons are organized and used to divulgate and protect the rich archaeological legacy.
