  Mostramos un compendio de los hechos más relevantes acaecidos en dicho período: fase final dictatorial de Primo de Rivera y monárquica (Alfonso XIII), la situación económica y social de la villa, los problemas más imperiosos, la erradicación del paludismo, la esperanzadora -pero conflictiva- etapa republicana, la Guerra Civil y sus trágicas consecuencias, la etapa franquista, la Transición, primera Corporación provisional y Elecciones Generales democráticas, el Hospital Campo Arañuelo, el notorio año 1979, la consolidación de la democracia -la fase bipartidista, con predominio del PSOE-, el Estatuto de Autonomía de Extremadura, el giro local hacia el centro-derecha, evolución de la población, la situación actual y futura (posible).
