    This paper describes why the moving lens scanner (MLS) prototype was developed and the main features which make it an ideal tool for the tracing of the perspective of paintings. As an example, it is also described how the perspective of a few large paintings was derived from their underdrawings.

    Questo articolo descrive le motivazioni che hanno portato alla progettazione del prototipo di scanner riflettografico a lente mobile ( MLS ) ed illustra le principali caratteristiche che lo rendono uno strumento ideale per il rilievo del tracciato prospettico dei dipinti. A titolo di esempio viene descritto come è stato ricavato il tracciato prospettico di alcune opere di grandi dimensioni, a partire dal disegno preparatorio.
