Resumen de La filosofía de Virgilio de Córdoba: su tradicion filosófica

Se exponen los temas generales de la obra Filosofía, de Virgilio de Córdoba, que aprecian en ella los estudios que la clasifican como obra de literatura: identidad del autor, autenticidad, estructura, filosofía, que consideran propia del naturalismo-averroísta. Se muestra que la lectura filosófica de su núcleo: la nigromancia, ciencia que se ocupa de las cosas dudosas, y del contenido de sus aspectos filosóficos básicos (la causa primera, los espíritus, el alma), permite establecer que pertenece a la tradición filosófica neoplatónico-aviceniana, que propiciaba la unidad de las religiones monoteístas, y no a la aristotélico-averroísta.

An exposition is given of the general topics of Virgilio de Cordoba’s work Philosophy that estimate therein the studies categorizing it as a literary work: author’s identity, authenticity, structure, philosophy considered as proper of Averroist naturalism. It is shown that a philosophical reading of its nucleus: nigromancy as a science dealing with dubious matters, and the content of its basic philosophical aspects (the first cause, the spirits, and the soul) enables to consider it as proper of the Neoplatonic-Avicennian philosophical tradition propitiating the unity of monotheistic religions, not of the Aristotelic-Averroist tradition.
